ATX 12v. 4 pin mobo 8 pin power cable

The title says it. I was setting up my my new pc today and the ATX 12v on the motherboard has 4 pins but my power supply cable comes with a 8 pin connector. Do I need a converter cable? I don't think I can connect just 4 pins. :(
 
You know your right. It did fit. there wasn't really much of a gap. yay I can't seem to find if it matters which side 4 pins I should use. But I'll keeping looking!
 
The 4 pins only plug in a certain way on the 8 pin plugs. You can't really use the middle set of four pins, so try it one way and then the other, and if it fits, you're golden.
