I am planning on building a high performance computer for a wide variety of tasks such as internet marketing all the way to casual gaming and video editing. I just put together this list of parts from newegg. Should I have any problems with the parts I've chosen or should I be okay to order them?

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor N82E16819103727 $134.99

GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H Motherboard (24 pin) N82E16813128435 $134.99

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UB Case N82E16811119047 $49.99

Antec EarthWatts EA-500D Green 500W Power Supply N82E16817371035 $69.99

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB RAM (8GB) N82E16820231311 $52.99

Western Digital RE4 WD5003ABYX Hard Drive (500GB) N82E16822136697 $74.99

HIS H467QR1GH Video Card (1GB) N82E16814161315 $69.99

SAMSUNG CD/DVD Burner DVD Burner (No Cable) N82E16827151233 $20.99

BYTECC 18" Serial ATA-150/300 SATA Cable N82E16812270093 $3.49

TOTAL $612.41

What I'm looking for here is a performance PC on a budget that can be expanded as I like and as needed. Also, I am an avid Ubuntu/Linux monkey and would like to know if I would be able to run Ubuntu on this setup. By the way, this will be my first computer build project. I don't really need a dedicated sound card.

Thanks

Looks like it will work just fine. Not much money, either.

And yes, it will run linux prefect fine.

Looks fine to me. the video card is a bit low powered to be considered "performance" but if you aren't heavy gamer, it'll be fine.

Good choices.
