Thanks for the offer! I was able to get Ubuntu 10.04.02 up and then installed the KDE desktop which is exactly what I wanted.

Considering the system is exactly the same as it has ever been minus the Graphics card, I was assuming that the issue was with the Graphics card. This was confirmed with a few errors thrown by Ubuntu 11.04

Udevadm settle /sys/devices/pci0000:00/[...]
edevd [104] worker [135] unexpectedly returned with status 0x0100

It was also confirmed by this post over @ ubuntuforums.org.
