Hi!

Well, I am going to install/ reformat an old computer using an external drive.

The unit has password that we cant retrieve so i need to reformat it and install windows xp. But it doesnt have an internal optical drive so i need to use a new external.

Will i be able to install the windows using a new external drive? Do i have to install the external drive first? If yes, how can i install it if it doesnt have internal optical drive and if i cant open it because of the password?

Thanks in advance!

You can install from an external USB, but the BIOS of the computer was first to be able to boot from a USB source and other hand, may be activated and set to start in early priority.
