movies on to DVD

Thanks Guys,

For your help with the different formats replies a few posts down.

I now have another hassle, When I play these movies on the computer they are OK, however if I download and put them onto a DVD to watch them on the TV (TV is one end of the house and the computer is at the other end) they play like a badly dubbed B grade movie being out of sync that much that it's pointless watching the movie...Should I change them to another format or what....can anyone suggest anything??????
