Go with tri channel ram if going intel. Amd performs better on dual, intel performs better on tri.

I would also suggest an asus board. They seem to be a very good quality company for motherboards.

Aside from that, everything else looks very good. It's nice to have someone who knows what they're doing before buying.

Tri channel ram. Does that mean that i have to have 3 sticks of ram installed?
asus motherboards are kinda pricey and i am trying to keep costs down. i am not planning on doing sli. If AsRock is not a good motherboard, what is the best bang for the buck LGA1155 Z68 motherboard.

If it has 4, it won't do tri channel. Tri channel motherboards have 6 dimm slots, 3 for each channel.

EDIT: Oh, and buy a "tri channel kit" since you'll get 3 of the same exact sticks.. Then buy a motherboard with 6 dimm slots, post it up here to ask if it supports tri channel.

The RAM in the OP's first post will work fine in dual channel with the Gigabyte motherboard he posted. Just be sure to install a 64 bit operating system if you want to use all 8GB of RAM.

motherboard with 6 dimm slots are not available with LGA1155 Z68 it seems can't find any on newegg
tri channel mobos must be a rare thing.
