So I have the following configuration:

Disc 0: Windows 7
Disc 1: Partition 1: Debian
Disc 3: Partition 2: Windows 98

I already have Windows 7 installed on Disc 0. I know GRUB is excellent at identifying other partitions, and was going to start installing in this order:

Disc 0: Windows 7
Disc 1: Partition 2: Windows 98
Disc 1: Partition 1: Debian

does this seem logical?

Yeah this makes sense. I like that you are installing Debian, on sdb2, make sure that you install GRUB on the same partition as you are installing Debian, and not on sda1. GRUB should find everything fine.

perfect. I figured as much, but needed some extra reassurance.
