noise from inside the tower

Hello. Every few minutes or so I can hear a noise from inside the tower which lasts for about a minute or so. I don't think it's the hard drive because I just replaced it a couple of days ago, but I can't sure. Sounds like a fan or whirring noise or something but my ears can be fooling me.

Any ideas what could be causing the noise? Any diagnostic software to help me?

Well, you do have fans running in your tower. They may just be kicking up in RPM whenever your processor and/or video card get hot.

My lappy gets loud when the cpu fan revs up. It's normal for a desk or lap system to generate some noise. If you have the room in your case you might consider a cpu cooler with a larger dissipation area. That would allow for a larger fan that runs at a slower speed thus making less noise. Make sure you don't buy no junk if you go that route.

Just put out the RAM of your computer and clean the carbons with the help of rubber and insert it again. Now tell whats about the result? :)
