Clarification needed

Hi,

I am searching high and low for a sata contoller card, I need it to control 8 HDD's, preferably I would like it to be fast (6gb), so far I have got one that supports 10 but it only has two ports to connect too(????).
I got another which has 16 ports to connect too BUT it is too big to fit in any slots on the Mobo (Gigabyte GA EX58)
So now I am back to square one and have seen this:-

Does the 8 ch (I guess means channel) mean I can connect the 8 drives too it.
Any info would be appreciated.

this site seems to think so. Its not 6 gb speeds though.

Thanks for your responce, however I am still confused....I can see only two connections, even if they are doubled that is four....How on earth am I supposed to connect the other four drives....I have even been to the highpoint site and the image is the standard one seen on every site....so I am back to square one

It uses a sas cable that connect to four sata drives per 1 sas connector so u have two connectors so that's 8sata drives. Correct me if I wrong, but that's what I got out of it.
