I've always said, when you buy something like an Alienware, XPS or Scan 3XS, you're paying mostly for the name. Atleast in the case of Scan's 3XS. I was looking into how much it would cost me to build the same system (GTK SLI with OC'd i5 2500K) and was suprised to find out that the parts came to £1100, and Scan sell it built, overclocked, windows-loaded and shipped for £1300.

not bad really.

jus sayin'

edit: and also, most of that extra 2 bills they charge turns out to be VAT when you look into it.

I once saw an awesome dell gaming desktop for $4500, and when I priced the individual parts it came out to around $2400, OS and all.

Darkseeker, did they also list a good motherboard spec/PSU spec?

i think it was an XFX 800(i think) Core power unit, and an Asus motherboard, the model of which i cant remember. they were both pretty decent spec wise though. The 3XS server seems to be being funny atm so i cant find the link.
