Hi All,
I am currently working on a laptop but am about to go back to a desktop, when I first started to rebuild my desktop I put all the regularly used files on to an external HDD, but everytime I opened one of these files on the laptop they would ALWAYS open as a read only files, I have been into the various documents properties and removed the tick from the read only box but this made no difference.
As I am about to go back the other way I am anticipating the same thing again and I am wondering if this read only scenario can be avoided again.
I am using Windows 7 with Open Office on both machines and it doesn't make sense to me that this read only scenario occurs everytime I change machines as I do periodically.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
