Mom has virus or malware on her computer...HOW TO RID OF ANTIMALWARE TOOL

Hello,

My mom has some nasty malware. On her desktop, I see she has a program recently installed on 4/03 called "Antimalware Tool" and it features a castle-like icon. I figure this is her problem...something she installed thinking it would keep her computer running well is actually telling her she has tons of viruses, etc just so she'll buy their scam product. This Antimalware Tool keeps throwing at her pop-ups.

Now I do not own a Windows 7 computer like she does...I use XP and I can't navigate my way through her computer so easily. Hard to believe it's that different for me.

How can I remove it???

does she have any anti-virus software installed? Have you run a full virus scan??

You can also try http://www.computerforums.org/compu...te-multiple-antivirus-bootable-cd-103887.html and scan the system with many different scanners

Hold down F8 while booting and boot to safe mode.

on your PC, download Malwarebytes' Anti-malware and put it on a pen drive, load it onto her PC while in safe mode and run a full scan.

a very simple solution is that u should restore your system or your moms on that date... it will done the job

Run AVG First Thing!

Malwarebytes' from Safemode > AVG normal boot.

Some malware will prevent you from installing AV in a normal boot.

Yeah safe mode,install and run anti malwarebytes, done it many times.

You can remove it manually, use Malwarebytes (great program), or just reset the system to an earlier date.
