Project GhettoBook (23 inch laptop)

Todays progress:

I cut some tact switches off a scanner's control panel and glued them to a pcb, then wired them up to a fdd connector. I forgot to take a picture of the top before mounting it, so here are the after shots:

I cut up an old fdd cable ans wired it into the controls of each battery controller and the power switch foe the mobo.

I also got the wacom mounted:

And I got all the ports done.

It seems I've neglected updating this thread for quite a while. Here's where I am as of now:

It's not 100% done yet (I doubt it ever will be tbh...) but it is in a functioning state. The final dimensions are 19x22x4 inches, and it weighs 23 pounds according to my bathroom scale.

Wow, pretty nice. I'm guessing you built it off of an Asus style design? Also, is it awkwardly balanced towards where the batteries are?

Yep. I was originally going to do something more rounded, but then I saw the G73.

A bit, but the massive size kinda makes up for it. The only time I really notice is when I pick it up without closing the lid.
