Project GhettoBook (23 inch laptop)

adhesive is probably not the best idea. I'd suggest self-taps into the bracket, or nut and bolt.

I tried that, but there's so much torque that it just rips the screws out of the holes.

if you don't want to use screws. Fiberglass and resin will hold it. it doesn't look pretty, but it will probably be covered anyway.

Will it stick to the plastic well? That's the biggest problem I'm having.

I'm going to try to build a channel out of ABS that the hinge can slide into. The ABS weld glue /should/ be strong enough, and that way allows me to remove the screen.

Eh, How about some heavy Threaded wood screws.

Note: In your sig, looks liek you oc'ed a pentium II to 955mhz more than you have a Phenom II 955 lol.

Here are some sketches of the new hinge assembly I'm going to try. Hopefully the make sense, because it's really difficult to explain.

Seems I've been neglecting this thread a bit. Here are photos of my progress in the last week.

I couldn't find any hinges small enough, so I cut some up with a dremel.
