I found someone with this 97 Eagle Talon TSI. It has a little more than 200,000 miles on it but the motor was rebuilt about 50,000 miles ago. The guy who owns it now bought it for a project car until he needed leg surgery and used the rest of the money for that. He wants $1050.00 for it. I want to buy it as a project car. The only problems with it are the clutch needs to be bled out because he hasn't driven it in a while, headliner needs replacing and the throw out bearing needs to be replaced. He drove the car today with only the clutch needing to be pumped before he switched gears. Do you think it's worth buying? I want to spend about 3 months and $5,000 extra on parts to fix it up and get it ready for shows. The car does run which is nice. The interior is extremely shitty but I am fine with it. I am not finding anything worth my money really. I feel like this would be a great project car with a ton of potential. Just happy I can find cheap Eclipse parts online and a ton of older parts at the junkyard which I can buy for dirt cheap. Here are some pictures and a video. Let me know if you guys think this is worth buying for a project. I understand it will require a good amount of work which I am willing to put in. I'll be doing all repairs by hand and hopefully rebuilding the engine starting in a week if I get it.
