Hello, I am looking to find a USB input to 3.5mm Headphone jack output for use on my iPod.
I have been looking everywhere but I can only find a 3.5mm to USB. Is their such a thing as USB > 3.5mm?
Thank you.

iPod shuffle, and kind of. I just need something to plug a USB headset into and output a 3.5mm headphone jack.

I believe that the ipod sync cables have 4 wire, (ve, tx, rx, gnd).

so your 3 wire "jack" socket won't do, you'd need a 4 wire.

and of course, you can feasibly make whatever you like (in terms of sockets) transmit whatever you like...

there is no reason that you can't use a certain connector for any given data stream. (eg, there's an aweful lot of "standard" rs232 connectors)

USB carries audio aswell, hence USB headsets. It is possible to have a female USB to male 3.5mm adapter, I just don't think anyone had made one yet.

Yeah, it has a much higher chance in carrying in digital format. I just need it to listen on my iPod. I don't need anything special. I use the USB on my PC.
