upgrading ram

I recently built a computer last year with dual channel 2x2gb 240 pin DDR3 ram. I was wondering that if i upgrade can i keep that ram in there instead of buying 2x4gb 240 pin DDR3? It would save me a whole lot of money that way.

i have an ASUS M4A785TD-V evo
and i have sector 5 dual channel 4gig ram...i dont know the speed of it

Yes you will be able to buy another 2 x 2GB set and run it with your current lot. Try to get the same though. In theory, a set with the same specs would work, however there is a greater chance of them not working than if you used the exact same spec Patriot Sector 5 memory
