Question about an upgrade.

Hello everyone, I was considering upgrading to a geforce 580, but i wasn't sure if I would have a lot of bottlenecking with my current setup, here it is.

3.00 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo
64 kilobyte primary memory cache

Not hyper-threaded

I'd say get two more gigs of ram and make sure your power supply is at least 450watt.
Thou, the 580 is probably overkill depending on what your doing.

What video card do you have now?
 
it will bottleneck. new cards are designed for the newest version of OS and by your spec, I don't think you can run win7 with 2 gigs of ram and still play games comfortably. Maybe if you have nothing but the game running. if you're looking into the 580, im guessing you are playing some intense games? if you arent, no need for 580. if you are, upgrade to a new pc.
 
Well I really only play wow and some steam games, won't upgrading to directx10 or 10 improve the graphics on WoW?
 
yes it will. your system will bottleneck that card regardless. its better to get a card that complements your system or upgrade other parts of your system to complement the 580.
