Hi CF,
So my friend has setup Remote desktop between his home (Windows 7) and work (Windows XP) computers. He has been able to successfully connect from home and do what he needs to do. This lasted for a few days.
He claims now that he cannot connect from home and found out that the IP address had changed at work. Once he changed it at home, everything was great again. He has mentioned that the power at work gets switched off every morning (I can't recall the reason).
My question is: How can we connect using either a host name or IP address (which I'm guessing needs to be static)? He would like to keep using Remote desktop and is this possible without a VPN?
