just got a new comp, it is running ok on a 450w power supply.
1tb hd, gtx 460, 8gb ram.

but i want to install like 3 more 120m fans.

will the power supply be able to handle extra 3 fans? do the fans take much power for them to work?

You should be ok. But can you give a more detailed list of whats in your system, just in case.

AMD Quad Core AM3 x4 965 Black Editiion @ 3.4Ghz
Asus M4A78LT-M-LE Motherboard With USB Power Boost
Seagate SATA 1000GB Internal 3.5" Hard Drive
8GB DDR3 RAM
22x Duel Layer DVD/RW SATA Drive
GTX 460 Dedicated 1GB DirectX 10 Graphics Card
7.1-channel Channel High Definition Audio
10/100/1000 Ethernet
10x Ready-to-Use USB 2.0 Ports
1x Serial (Com1) & VGA Port
450 Watt PSU (Power Supply)

On second thought. You may wont to get something a little bigger. Our systems are comparable and I'm running a 600w
And I believe that GTX460 has a minimum requirement of 450w.

someone else may say its ok. but I would say change it.

450 watts is a tad low, but I wouldn't worry about it much as long as it's a name brand unit. What's the name of the company that made the power supply, davey?
