IRC and its Inactiveness

Ok so i dont know if its just me or not... but whenever i go on an IRC server, weather it be Undernet or EFnet... no one talks?

Has anyone else had this experience? I used to go on AusNet and talk to a person on there all the time. But it just seems dead...

Does anyone even use IRC anymore except for botnet relays?

IRC isn't like IM - sometimes no-one's on and sometimes it can take a day or so for someone to come on and reply. On relatively inactive channels, sometimes people never reply at all!
