I have not been keeping up with graphics cards in the past several months, but I'm considering updating my current one in the near future. I don't want to spend much more than 200$. Would it be worth the money to start looking for one now, or should I wait another 6 months or so? I currently have a GTX 275.

The only thing coming out with in 6 months that you could possibly use is a GTX 560, expected on 20th January. If it is anything like the GTX 460 is, it will be awesome performance at a great price. If it turns out to be a flop for whatever reason (I very much doubt it will be), a GTX460 is your best bet for the price
You can get a GTX 470 for about $240 when they are on sell. The GTX 460's are well within your current budget. You might want to wait a few weeks for the new video cards to come out to see if the 470's become a bit cheaper. The GTX 275 is a good card, so it shouldn't be any real rush to get a new video card.
