Hi, when i try to install a nvidia driver i get an error message saying:

"The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit"

This always happens for all of the drivers i have downloaded from nvidia except for the one i got on the disk which came with the gpu, the driver on the disk actually installs properly for some reason.

The gpu is a geforce gt 220, i have tried using driver sweeper to completely uninstall everything, and then tried again, i have tried doing it in safe mode and running it as administrator aswel.

Any idea why only the driver on the disk works?

Try running Windows Update, specifically the optional updates. Windows 7 is really good about keeping drivers up to date via Windows Update. At least it has in my experience. Run it and see if anything shows up under Optional Updates.

Bummer. Usually the manufacturer's website if the best source for drivers. I guess not in this case...

Have you tried uninstalling the card in Device Manager? then restart and let Windows search for drivers?
