Hi, I have a MSI 256mb 7300GT which stopped working a couple of years ago. Keep getting wierd artificats all over the screen. I was thinking about flashing the BIOS for funsies. I intend to "reapply" the default bios (or updated version). I've been here ReMOSitory :: mvk.tech :: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 470 465 460 ATI Radeon HD 5970 5870 5850 5830 :: MVKTech :: On the Edge of Technology and cannot find MSI 7300GT. What should I do? Can I flash with a different BIOS, which BIOS?

oh well chucked it

If you do anything wrong, you will turn your mother-board into a door stop.
Flash it only with your motherboard BIOS.

chucked it in the end. bye bye. I wasn't flashing the mobo anyhow... just a graphics card, but that raises an interesting question:

Can flashing the card with a invalid BIOS (say a 7600GT BIOS) cause damage to the motherboard or is the damage isolated to the graphics card. A good electrical engineer should contain the effects to the graphics board only. I'm sure there are horror stories?
