and most games run great with dual GPUs
I have a 5770 and I beleive I should have bought a 5670, if you need a fast card, dont waste your money on somthing overkill, I would recomend 1 6870, tried to sli 2 8500gt's and got some weird crap on the screen, but they both work fine out of sli though...
Do what? I don't know where you're looking, but 6970's go for about $100 more than a 5770.6870? those are about the price of the 5770. If I were you, I would wait for the 6770 to get out and buy it for a even lower price.
A 6970 is hardly overkill for just about any quad core rig. It might be a bit much for an Athlon II/Phenom I rig, but beyond that most anything should be able to utilize it.I have a 5770 and I beleive I should have bought a 5670, if you need a fast card, dont waste your money on somthing overkill, I would recomend 1 6870, tried to sli 2 8500gt's and got some weird crap on the screen, but they both work fine out of sli though...

A 6970 is hardly overkill. Most any quad core rig could utilize it perfectly well in games, though a stock-clocked Athlon II or Phenom I would probably lag behind a bit.I have a 5770 and I beleive I should have bought a 5670, if you need a fast card, dont waste your money on somthing overkill, I would recomend 1 6870, tried to sli 2 8500gt's and got some weird crap on the screen, but they both work fine out of sli though...
