New user account problem in Vista

My computer is using Vista. In order to record some videos with a program from a company called Appilan I was told to turn off the “user account” settings in the control panel of Vista. When I do this I loose the audio portion of a video from the internet like youtube. The audio from a DVD plays with no problem.

When I reselect the user account the audio returns, but I can not use the program properly. This is a new occurrence since in the past I have used this method without loss of audio.

Thank in advance to all who answer.

It is my personal computer, so I have never even designated administrator rights. I do not understand why unselecting the user account does anything to the audio for internet videos.

Turn the user account control off or set to "Never Notify", then right click on the program that you want to run and select "Run As Administrator". UAC should have nothing to do with the sound, but apparently it does :/

UAC suspends the program until you choose yes or no
