Laptop Screen is completely gray - External monitor works fine?

What about the contrast? People at my school have fun messin' with the contrast settings on the macs so when you turn it on it displays as nothing.

I dont agree with you about it was a button press that killed this screen.

Otherwise if it's the laptop screen LCD part of the screen you're pretty well stuffed. Ebay have many screens for sale. You will probably find a suitable replacement to fit your laptop, possibly even cheaply...

Try the LCD cable. A LCD inverter only controls brightness. It sounds like the graphics controler works fine though...
