what i'd like to know if is this all seems compatible, most importantly, the motherboard, processor and RAM. other than that, i would also like to know if there are any areas i could downgrade. would a core 2 q8400 be an acceptable substitution for the i5 or would that hurt gaming performance. if i did sub in the q8400, then i could sub in a cheaper mobo and save a little over $100. any ideas?

So far, I'm pretty sure THE most demanding game out there is Final Fantasy XIV. Use Can You Run It? And choose Final Fantasy XIV, and see what it says on requirements. You could also try out the Game-o-meter on Yougamers.com

Considering, your computer can run this on recommended settings, I think you're very capable of running lots of future games. I'm not positive on the processor, because your processor has a 4129 rating while the FFXIV has a 5559 but it seems quite excellent.

Of course, this is just my opinion and studies. Let's see what others have to say!

EDIT: Oh sorry! I hadn't read you're whole post. I thought it was about gaming opinion not compatibility. My bad ^o^
