I just put together a computer and I'm trying to install Windows 7 32-bit on it. I selected CD Rom for boot and it starts the installation but it's going extremely slow. I switched SATA cords on the DVD drive, switched DVD drives, switched discs, same thing happens.
The HDD is an IDE. The DVD drive is SATA.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

How old is your hard drive? An old drive is not going to be very fast at installing an OS...

It's a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320gb.

I'm guess the hdd is broken cause it's extremely slow. I managed to install the os and it runs extremely slow.
