dell e510 installing second hd

so i have the original 80gb serial ata hd in it. im cheap and have a separate 80gb ata hd. how can i get both hds to work together or is it not possible? id like to use one for a file storage and free up space on the main hd.

i know its posible since i read a post somewhere around here about it. smattering un fortunately i do not know how to do so.

Yes. You just need an ATA cable and slot on the motherboard as well as a power connector from the power supply. Then just plug them all in and turn the computer back on. Windows will find the new hard drive, assign it a drive letter, and you will be able to save things to it now instead of to the C: drive.
