Oh dang!
I thought I had this faulty dynamics processor sussed when I replaced the LM7815 on it's split rail PSU. Turns out one of the channels is dead; it's showing a gain reduction with no signal present.
So tomorrow i'll hook it up to mu MotU interface, pop a hot 100hz signal through it and trace it to, hopefully, a faulty op-amp; with a digital multimeter!

Major. Q95 bottlenecks 470, ironically. Probably a good 20 frame increase on GTAIV.

If your old quad bottlenecks, then my bottlenecks for sure, haha. Looks like I have to wait another year or so before I can use my 5870 to it's full potential.
Then again, GTAIV does relies more on CPU than GPU.

GTAIV is really CPU intensive. Most games shouldn't see much difference though.

Core2 Quad and i7 1366 are almost (clock for clock) identical. They score in the same region in Pi, iirc.

What kind of games could that play?

like, L4D on minimum or something?
Considering a Netbook to put all my media/movies on so i have it on the go when i go to a friends dorm or house an i want to take my movies with me to watch there or something.
