Hello again i am planning on getting the i5 540M 2.53GHz (3.06GHz Turbo Mode, 3MB Cache) processor but for an extra 100 dollars i can upgrade to a i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache).

Is it worth it? I will mostly be using this labtop for gaming so i would greatly appreciate the help. I have been out of the Computer tech loop for a couple of years now so i dont know my way around anymore lol. Well anyways thanks in advance.

What's a labtop?

It depends on the kinds of games you play. If you play a lot of the older games, released say from 2005-2008, then you'll want the i5 with the higher turbo mode, because clock speed trumps cache in a lot of games.

If you play a lot of multithreading capable games, then the i7 would be fine, but I don't like the low initial clock speed on that one. 1.6 GHz is just barely netbook territory.
