Hello,
I have two Western Digital external hard drives. I use both of them on my windows. I let my friend borrow the 320 GB one. He has a Macbook it worked on his. The problem is when he gave it back to me it doesn't work on mine anymore. It is not broken when I plug it in the light on the hard drive turns on and the icon the the bottom right comes up saying safety remove hardware. When I click on it. It shows something is plugged in and connected but shows "0 usb mass storage at this location." Then I plugged it into my Windows Vista. It said it was installed correct again when i go to it this time it shows connected and instead of saying HUB 1 or HUB 2 it has random long numbers like this 001 0324 0003 0012 (I made those numbers up).
When you go into my computer the hard drive is no where to be found.
When I went back to my friends house and plugged it in it opened up perfect. So somehow the hard drive now works for mac only. How do i fix this
