Motherboard Preferences

Okay, I know there are ATX, Micro-ATX, and all these other motherboard types, and I know they are not cross compatible. My question, if I was going to make a monster machine, which would be best for intensive work?

It's just a form factor. I usually go with ATX though since they usually offer more PCI ports and what not.

ATX. I agree with GibsonSGKing. Also, most cases, either mid tower or full tower, all support ATX motherboards.
