Hard drive not being recognized?

Ok so i bought a hard drive enclosure for my old laptops hard drive... Ide to ide so it fits perfect!

Plugged it in, green light flashed on it and all...

Said it was preparing my new device for its first use on the screen or similar, and then it says your device is ready for use but is not showing up in my computer and does not launch when i plug it in... Any ideas?

Have you tried plugging it into another PC and if so do you get the same result?

Yup have tried it in my two laptops!!

Press the Windows key and R to bring up the Run... dialogue box. Type in diskmgmt.msc and press Enter. This is your disk manager, look to see if the drive shows up there. It may just need to have a drive letter assigned to it.
