Post upgrade discussion thread

I've just been lurking lately as I've been too busy lining things up for college in a few weeks and working on computers non-stop (happens every year RIGHT before college). I did want to pop by and say that it's looking good.

Edit: Additionally, what about the forums logo? Can we have a design contest for that? I would love to throw some designs down.

While I agree, some people here are going to want you to shut up and let this die because I believe the last time I brought this up, things escalated and I ended up with a 2 week ban. Let it go. It probably won't ever get changed, no matter how terrible the design/look or resolution of the image.

ACP > Styles and Templates > Style Manager > Your theme drop down menu > Stylevars > LINKS > link_color
Also adjust the linkhover_color to make it change appearance when you hover over the link.
Out of the box the link and linkhover color are the same.
Any way I can help you David just get in touch with me.

Also since David's using postbit legacy changing the text area gets a bit involved to change.
Part of the text area is controlled by the background color of the member info area. I personally use the postbit style that has it over the top of the text area.
Mostly to give my pictures more room to flair out and also it separates the member info area from the text area when it comes to setting up colors and appearance.
But that's David's call.

did you not notice that the logo did change already?

I've noticed a couple of things... nothing too major though:

1. Facebook connect doesn't seem to be working (you click the button... nothing happens?)
2. The calendar still doesn't work (only going up to 2008). Is it something Database related?

Not a critique to this board but to the folks over at vBulletin.

The out-of-the-box design sucks. It really does, especially in comparison to vBulletin 3. The random gradients and shadow effects just sloppily placed all around. Was looking to purchase vBulletin in the future but not anymore. Not after this mess.

There's a reason for that - unless there's some JS hooks going on (unlikely) it's not even trying to do anything! I actually hadn't noticed it before though, what's it meant to do?
Code:
<a id="fb_loginbtn" href="#"><img src="images/misc/facebook_login.gif" alt="The Facebook Platform" /></a>
