Okay so this will be my first build on my own and I have a budget of 2500.00 dollars Canadian, give or take a couple hundred. I am looking to use this computer for mostly Digital Media and Gaming. I do not need a Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers.

here is a build i have come up with so far that is in my price range. any feedback or other suggestions would be very much appreciated....

if your gonna get X2 5870
just get one 5970
get a little cheaper case and get bigger HD

ok so you say just get one 5970...will that give me better performance over the duel 5870?. I plan on running three monitors at times.

I will look into a different case. any ones you can recommend?

The only motherboards worth considering for the i7's is the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2) or the Asus P6X58D-E.

They should be around the same price and are super performers with great features and over-clock-ability. There's nothing better at this price.

I have the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R mother board and I'm real happy with it. The bios are great and it combined with the 930 its a piece of cake to over clock. So I second Remeniz's comment.

Thanks to everyone for the tips. after a little more research here is my updated build.

I was thinking about getting a more powerful power supply, would that even be necessary.
