Blue Screen of death

Ok so my friend has the blue screen and he called me over to re-install windows. I put in my Vista CD, it said to press any key to launch CD, I saw windows bar going across, then PC restarted and again I got the blue screen of death. I even tried safe mode, no help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

On the BSOD you should get an message saying what failed, can you post a pic or at least that message?
