w xp keyboards not working

we have a pc with windows xp and all of a sudden the keyboard isnt working...

1. cant type anything
2. sometimes makes a clicking noise

what i had read, its probably the motherboard, but just wanted to see if people have seen it...

let me know if there is any other info that i should give you!!! thanks

Try another keyboard, reboot, try a different plug if it's a USB keyboard, try the KB on another computer.

Those are all of the things I would try first before I blame the motherboard

yah i have already tried that already. good advice though

i tried a usb, and ps2 keyboard.

Ok, you've tried all of that, and a different keyboard doesn't work on the system that the original keyboard didn't? If that's the case, the motherboard is hosed.
