Ubuntu or Xubuntu?

Should I get Ubuntu or Xubuntu? What originally appealed to me from Ubuntu was having facebook, email, all of that in one window being managed from the desktop. Then I heard about Xubuntu. Is Xubuntu good with this too? What are the differences? What does it do better or worse?

Xubuntu is a lighter install of Ubuntu, reading your sys specs in your other thread, you should just go Ubuntu

The main difference (perhaps the only major one) is that XUbuntu uses XFCE as its window manager - it's much lighter on resources than Gnome or KDE, hence the fact it makes that distro one geared to older PCs.

Unless you're getting things up and running on older hardware (~decade or older) then XUbuntu is probably the better bet, otherwise there's no need.
