How far should my subwoofer be from my case?

Thanks for the advice everyone! I really appreciate it. And no, my speakers didn't come with any instructions as they were a refurb unit. But they did come with a sweet game console adapter that I can use to hook up the speakers to my PS3

Don't put ANYTHING on top of the case especially a SUB (low) on the floor
