Internet Access Problems

I just bought a used laptop, Acer Aspire 5810TZ, and have not been able to access the internet. I think it is because the previous owner set up a private access code(Passphrase or Network Security Key). I haven't been able to contact him. In the meantime can anyone point me in the right direction?

I did go into Computer and Priorities, but didn't have much luck.

Can you connect to your wireless network? What happens if you try?

The security key is specific to the router you're trying to connect to, not to the computer itself. You'll need to enter the security key for your own network before it'll connect.

If the router came as part of a package from an ISP the key may be written on a sticker on the underside of the router.
