Router Question

My girlfriend has an old Wireless B linksys router set up in her house and its kind of crappy...

Her parents laptop works fine and so does my partition of Ubunto but her two other computers , Macbook and old Dell PC, are having trouble obtaining an IP.

I think the Dell is having trouble because its probably running XP service pack 1 (i forgot to check last night) but I can't explain whats wrong with the macbook....any thoughts?

You might want update the Dell to Service Pack 2 or 3.

As for the MAC, is it old?

No the macbook only 1 year max...

I think its probably the old router and its "Wireless B" I'm used to seeing "Wireless G"

For the Macbook, does it have trouble obtaining an IP address while standing right next to the router or are you a couple rooms away?
