i need a cpu cooler

I have a AMD athlon II 240 regor AM3 i need a after market cooler for it i am gunna be upgrading to a quad soon which i am going to over clock and this is the one : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103702

i want to find a really good AM3 aftermarket cooler for it preferably around 50-70 bucks i was considering some of the zalmans but i want some of your opinions

XIGMATEK Dark Knight. It's big, bad, cools incredibly well and is very quiet. Put one on an AMD X4 955.

yeah i heard that XIGMATEK made good CPU coolers the only thing im concerned with about that one is if it will fit in my case so i can use it until i get my full tower im using a cheapy little rosewill case

im not sure if it will fit in that and also are you sure that will fit on AM3 it only says AM2 in the description

The things are kinda tall. About 5 inches I think. Measure to see if it will fit. Of course it fits AM3. I put one on an AMD X4 955 as posted in my first reply.

yeah sorry going off of no sleep yeah im gunna measure tomorrow morning hopefully it will fit its a nice cooler no doubt but if it doesnt ill have to wait until i get my full tower

i dont like arctic cooler heat sinks there completely hideous ill probably end up going with the dark knight cooler seen some great reviews on them

I personally recommend the Zalman 9900 LED, but the Dark Night is a good choice as well.

I'm surprised none of you have mentioned the Corsair H50. It dissipates heat well and even better, doesn't blow hot air around your case. I'm a huge proponent to liquid cooling simply because of it's proven ability to absorb heat much faster than air. Plus each square inch can "hold" more heat than air.

And even better than all the above, it's cheap (Yes I know it's $10 above his stated budget), and maintenance-free. Some would call it overkill, but you can almost never go too far for cooling measures.
