My brother is looking for a new phone on a $150 budget, so I suggested a G1. He went and took a look at it and definitely wants it, but he doesn't have data, and we are on AT&T. I know it is possible to unlock it, but can this be done without a T Mobile SIM? And is there a way to make it disable 3G, EDGE, and GPRS data, but not wi-fi?
