Need Help!

Hi guys!
Didn't quite know where to post this. So here goes.

I currently repairing my gf laptop (Dell Inspiron 1520). The problem is - after a while the display dims when it's charging. Something like the lights were turned off but I can still see what's on the display if look at it in light. This only happens when it's charging. When i run only on battery it's ok and never dims.

Suggestions?

What operating system are you using?

Windows 7 just installed (from a clean format).
When it had Vista it had the same problem.

Have you checked the Power Settings to make sure it's not dimming the screen?

yes. it's totally random. like yesterday it dimmed twice in 10 minutes. today it has been plugged in for an hour and it haven't dimmed yet. to get out of the dimm i just go in and out of sleep.

Some models do that mine dim after 10 - 20 mins and mine is set not too.
Have you looked at Dell QuickSet?

....And checked the BIOS for Power Management options?
