Mic Not Detected?

Hi Im New here so , please notify me if its not in the right Section.

Im gonna try to keep this simple.

I rebooted my computer to win7 and now it doesnt detect the mic.

is there any necessary software that I need to install?

JK! What do you mean by you "rebooted [your] computer to win7?" Did you just restart the computer, or did you upgrade the OS to Win7 from XP/Vista? I would think that a mic would just be plug and play, and that it wouldn't have compatibility issues over an OS upgrade.
