Karl Marx

Whoah, that was taken way out of context, I know there are tax brackets, but they're ineffective and don't capture the money where it's really being made. They stop at $373,650. As for my comment on free healthcare, I never said we should allow non-citizens into the country, by all means I'm against that. However, if someone is already in country I believe they should be treated without discrimination... then deported.

There isnt anyone stopping people from entering the country right now. So like I said, People would come by the plane load to get FREE care.

That's a completely different issue though, just pointing out that I never said we should offer free healthcare to the world and whoever wants it. Just that I believe it's a basic human right. Immigration issues are jacked up as it is.

Yes but, what you said would allow people that are even just visiting here. Immigration laws cant stop someone from taking a vacation in New York. Except now people might plan their vacations around heart surgery. lol

Okay, I can understand that. Maybe not offer healthcare to non-citizens then, but certainly to legal citizens of the country.

...I have never paid taxes because it's unconstitutional.... So you're right, healthcare is not free, but it should be paid for by those who are making the billions of dollars each year. The big businesses should be taking care of the little guy in this country.
it becomes clear that you don't understand socialism either.

you appear have the same view as Warren appears to have.

socialism means everyone with money paying for all those without money...
he sees that as bad, you clearly see it as good.

I see that as terrible, and it's not socialism, basically, if you take money away from all those who can afford stuff based on their hard work, you take away any motivation to work.

the point is that it should be a shared responsibility,

I'm not bi---ing about the healthcare in this country because I don't have a good job and can't afford it because like I said earlier, I get my healthcare for free through the VA as a disabled Iraq war vet. I still think it's jacked up though that suzie Q and her son can't go into a hospital and get long term care for little johnny because she doesn't have health insurance nor the money to pay for it. Healthcare should be a basic human right.
I agree with you, healthcare and access to medicine SHOULD be a basic human right.

but in order to guarantee that basic human right you have to be quite adult and sensible about it...

basically, if you want free healthcare, you need to be prepared to pay for it.

that means not dodging your taxes.

same as if you want nice roads to drive on, you need to realise that the money to resurface them has to come from somewhere.

Yes but, what you said would allow people that are even just visiting here. Immigration laws cant stop someone from taking a vacation in New York. Except now people might plan their vacations around heart surgery. lol

you can't just tip up in Britain and get free surgery.

When you make contributions you do so against a national insurance number,

when you receive treatment that's essentially be against a national insurance number...

So people travelling throughout the world will still need travel insurance.

I retract this previous comment; true, regardless if taxes are constitutional or not, if I believe in a socialist type of government (no I'm not a socialist, just believe in socialized medicine) then I should pay taxes.

Well, in the constitution, income is defined as monies that are earned from business... not personal work or labor. The money you earn from labor is yours to keep. I have never paid taxes because it's unconstitutional. I'm sure the IRS, which is not a part of the federal government but somehow still has the right to tax, will someday find me and I'll end up in court. But I've heard of courts finding people innocent as taxes are unconstitutional. So you're right, healthcare is not free, but it should be paid for by those who are making the billions of dollars each year. The big businesses should be taking care of the little guy in this country. I'm not bi---ing about the healthcare in this country because I don't have a good job and can't afford it because like I said earlier, I get my healthcare for free through the VA as a disabled Iraq war vet. Wait so you're saying that the rich don't pay their fair share of taxes?

Read this Tax Data from the IRS:

Income
% of Total Income Tax

Top 1%:
40%

Top 10%:
71%

Top 50%:
97%

Communism. For. The. Loss. Although, Marx was a really good influential socialist thinker.

This is an old thread, eh?
