Posting from my new Lenovo IdeaPad Y560. I am once again very pleased with Lenovo's product quality. The laptop came preloaded with some crapware, but which doesn't? The keyboard is very comfortable.

Why not a ThinkPad?

No. They still make new versions. And it's free.

Why not a ThinkPad?

I almost bought a ThinkPad. The cheapest with dedicated graphics was $1500. I know that the IdeaPad is more for multimedia, but the dedicated graphics should be sufficient for basic modeling and simulations.

Thoughts on buying an atari flashback 2 and rebuilding it as a mini laptop? I would also hack it to take original atari 2600 games.

Why not a ThinkPad?

Whats wrong with IdeaPads? They look pretty good. I actually considered a few of their models when I was thinking about buying a laptop, but I decided to build a new computer instead.

Their IdealPad line is fine, but they're renowned for their ThinkPad notebooks. In terms of durability, it's just that much better.
