I have a problem thats really starting to annoy me. I have two folders in my C: Drive called 'My Backup', both containing previous windows installations that are eating up all of my hard drives memory. I want them gone. The problem is, I keep getting told that I need permission to access or delete anything in them. I AM the administrator. What do I need to do to gain access to get rid of these folders!?

It could be that they are being created and maintained by a third-party software. If this software is accessing them in the background you wont be able to delete them as they are in use.

Boot to safe-mode (F8 on the 'Windows' loading screen) and try deleting them then

I figured it out. I had to enable the 'True Administrator' account first, then take ownership of the files. Now they don't get to bother me or eat 54 gigs of hard drive anymore :)
